dana and greg (aka brawny) were so much fun we forgot our toes were freezing! seriously, besides being gorgeous, these two are a riot! it's amazing how fun a photo shoot can be when a couple puts personal time and effort into finding the perfect location, outfit and props. greg and dana love the outdoors and camping. we decided to style a portion of their engagement session with old camping gear, hot coco and of course s'mores! i personally love the fact that greg put so much thought into their location AND it was his idea to wear flannel! yes, ladies... dana is one lucky girl because her man doesn't complain about taking pictures! ha! thank you dana and greg for such a wonderful afternoon. sorry for the frozen toes, but it was worth it! dana and greg... we want s'more of you two!

we featured this adorable couple in our little valentines shoot, but that wasn't all we did with them. here are a few more images of them just being HOT! seriously there couple hotness level was a 10, and they are a kick in the pants too! we're huge suckers for eyes, and mirielle has the most incredible green eyes! we might have taken advantage of those eyes...loved them!

last week we had the privilege of shooting one of our amazing couples for 2011... and they were fabulous! when we asked mirielle and jorge if they would mind humoring me with some shots for valentine's day, they got more than they bargained for... a whole slew of super fun photos!

mirielle and jorge have been together since they were 15... they shared their first kiss on the playground after a science fair, and he teases her that "she forced him to kiss her." my favorite detail of this session were the love letters from jorge... they were simply adorable!

thank you mirielle and jorge for playing with taffy lips and confittie, freezing your buns off and looking gorgeous despite the cold! happy valentine's day everyone.

i am a little late posting this, but better late then never!

it all started with a 1950's wedding dress that jonda found at a local bridal shop. something about its soft feminine lines reminded me of a childhood fairy tale.it was perfect with all the mounds of ruffles and tulle.

unfortunately, we were in the middle of wedding season with minimal time to day dream... we decided to drop the project into the lap of our good friend and creative genius, emily. the only request being a theme of cinderella and using the color white... after several emails, story boards and dinner we had a direction and shoot date. *please note that all the detail shots of props were supplied and created by emily... the bouquet, streamers, hair piece and mice... yep, emily hand made those!

the next big project was finding a model who was tiny enough to fit into the dress. believe me when i say a 1950's size 14 is not comparable to a size 14 today. not even by a long shot!!! when we bought the dress the woman who helped me explained that in the early 50's, men would brag about their wives/girlfriends having hat-band waists... meaning their wives/girlfriends waist was the size of the hat-band that went around their head! yep, the dress was that tiny! we begged a former bride to try the dress on, and it fit her like a glove... we had our cinderella!

this little boy was a dream come true, of all the babies i have photographed he wins the prize, he didn't care what position we maneuvered him into he just slept through it all. i have been dying to use this little crib i found at farm chicks in spokane last year and this was the perfect occasion. this little boys mom was awesome and had an amazing touch to get him to sleep and besides getting peed on this was a fantastic photo session. thanks delong family he's a handsome one!

i love winter weddings, perhaps i am partial to them because i myself was a winter bride, or perhaps because they come at a time when your not booked day after day with shoots so they feel so refreshing! anthony and liz tied the knot the day after thanksgiving in a romantic candlelit ceremony. it was a chilly, (well more like freeing) but beautiful november day and i am so glad liz trusted margie lou and i enough to let us drag her outside for some photos. i think it was the fastest formal session ever, i think we were all frozen by the end of it, but it was so worth it! liz you were stunning, thanks for letting us capture your memories.

i have a thing for little girls and tutu's- i can't help it. it's hard to believe that it has been 6 months since this little sweet pea's debut on the blog from her newborn session. she has changed so much, it is amazing seeing kids transform. i had a a great time with shaun and andrea trying to make jayden crack a smile. someday i am going to set up a video camera to capture the crazy things us adults do to make the wee one's smile for the camera. she is a doll and i can't wait to capture more stages of her life. thanks you guys!

on a white winter day like today, looking at this shoot makes me want fall back so badly...the colors in spokane the day of this morning shoot were incredible, as you can see, an bryan and lorin made it so easy. these two love birds met while walking down the aisle together at lorin's cousin's wedding, and while it took awhile for the timing to be right and the stars align, it certainly did, and these two hit it off at another wedding. we can't wait for their big day next summer.

meet julia and dustin... we were first introduced when julia won the "styled session" from the moses lake bridal show in february. julia almost backed out on us, and we thank our lucky stars that we were able to use coffee and gentle persuasion to encourage her to agree to our crazy idea. needless to say that styled session turned out amazing... a little while after we shot the styled shoot, julia contacted us about photographing her wedding... of course we said yes, but julia and dustin never witnessed the happy dance we did that day....

julia and dustin exchanged vows at the rustic ritter farms in cle elum. the gorgeous venue is nestled in a valley surrounded by trees and mountains, and set the perfect tone for julia and dustin breathtaking wedding. we had so much fun capturing all the details, the bride getting ready, an emotional ceremony and a fun filled reception... never a dull moment... exactly how we like it! thank you julia and dustin for letting us be a part of your wedding day... we have been blessed by you!

This little dude was the rockstar ring bearer at Jade and Marla's wedding this summer, so I knew taking their family pictures would be a kick in the pants. It was such a beautiful day considering the rain storms the night before and as usual I was a spaz running around the park, "oh let's go here, no wait, let try here." Fall family pictures are so much fun, I love the colors, the fresh crisp air, and all the awesome families I have had so far!

guess what! we made style me pretty the biggest wedding blog out there, and we are so thrilled!

last month we had the honor of shooting a concept for the lovely ladies of the wedding blog love and lavender... these two sister-in-laws are such an adorable pair! they are crazy about anything weddings, and they have fun and unique concepts. for this shoot they developed the idea of using milk and cookies as a wedding theme. they created everything from a "sign-in table" to a milk bar. we love details and these girls provided so many that we were in detail heaven. for a better explanation, this is what the two geniuses had to say about this shoot...

We put almost all of the details together ourselves. The guest sign-in area consisted of a “recipe for love” sign that detailed Ellen and Josh’s love story. Then, we had guests fill out recipe cards with their own recipes for love and put them in the recipe box. We made favors by filling milk bottles with ingredients for cookies and included the recipe on the labels. The ladies of Jonda Spurbeck Photographers were indispensable in finding the location (an unharvested alfalfa field), baking some of the cookies, and contributing props. Their photography captured our vision perfectly. The table was decorated with various items that went along with milk or baking, including a vintage food scale, an old milk carrier, and lots of vintage milk bottles filled with flowers. We also used a cookie jar from Anthropologie with a wood sign we made that spelled out “Udder-ly in Love”. We made the menu cards by nailing printed menus onto cedar shingles. We made the napkins and used twine and heart cookie cutters as the napkin rings. The runner played off of the ruffles in Ellen’s dress and was made by sewing strips of fabric together and gathering them. Hay bales served as seating.

The cookie stand was made by laying a windowpane across more hay bales. We used a mixture of apple baskets, plates, and cake stands to display a variety of cookies that we baked as well as the cake (also made by us). In addition, we created the cake topper with two hard boiled eggs, part of an egg carton, and some paint! We hung baking supplies from the “cookies” sign that hung over the stand. The milk stand was made out of wood and built by our husbands. We simply added drink dispensers with three different flavors of milk: chocolate, strawberry, and regular! Ellen wore a Jim Hjelm dress from La Belle Elaine’s in Seattle. She wore a hair flower from Feathers and Frills and a pair of rugged boots from Ruche. Josh’s attire was a mix of items he already owned and pieces we picked up at thrift stores.

As Jonda and I were driving straight into a thunder and lighting storm through the pouring rain to meet Matt and Jenah for their engagement pictures, I knew Jonda was not feelin' this one...seriously, there was lighting and thunder and rain...but I knew we were gonna have a great shoot. I kept telling her.."it's all about the power of positive thinking." Well by golly it worked, we dodged the rain and had a beautiful evening to shoot in. How great are Jenah's boots! What do you do with a couple monkey's who won't sit still...hang them upside down of-course. I use to stress about getting the perfect photo where everyone is looking at the camera, but let's be honest, how many 2 year olds can sit still and look at the camera at the same time their sisters and brothers are looking as well. You just learn to roll with it and capture the moments, because those are the moments that matter, the spontaneous moments when the kids are laughing, making faces, and just being themselves. I love those photos...that's what it's all about...so with out further ado, meet the Chamberlain's. These munchkins have made their debut on the blog in the past and we finally got them all together for a family session. These boys are sooo dang cute and little Abigail well let's just say she was calling the shots and using her walking abilities to escape the camera. It was my pleasure capturing your sweet family.

This guy is one uber talented dude! He is a genius at the classical guitar, if you haven't heard much classical guitar music it is awesome! He was even playing it for me while I was taking pics, such beautiful sounds. He has worked his rear end off learning and becoming and a master at his craft and has even gotten to play with some of the best classical guitarist out there. His guitar which he barely let me touch is his 'baby' every time I made him change poses with it he was so very careful...Daniel, I know God has you going somewhere awesome, I can't wait to see where that is.

Photographing babies is extremely rewarding, to know you have captured their first photos that will last forever, makes it all worth it. While your in the middle of it all, sweating from the intense heat of the space heater and that baby is not happy with you it can be really hard. Sophie for example wasn't a huge fan of me, but mom did an amazing job coaxing her back to sleep everytime she would get upset. Babies expressions crack me up, I just giggle when I look at their innocent faces! We wanted to get their rings on her cute little toes, but she was having none of it so when we finally wore her out and she just laid there with her hands on her lap we slipped them on her fingers and it is so cute! Dan and Jada she is beautiful, congratulations!

Ryann and Tac

This girl and her horse are just gorgeous! Look at them, they look like they belong on the cover of a country album. Tac wasn't too excited about this senior shoot to begin with but he warmed up to the whole idea and put his little ears up after much coaxing from Ryann's sister. I have known Ryann and her family for about 10 years now, I used to baby sit this girl, can you believe that one. I swear Ryann was a model in her past life, she was so cute, she would give me serious face and then smile and then she would move her pose, she was so easy and I had so much fun! Ryann is a senior at Eastmont High and is a very successful at her endeavor of showing reining horses. Giddy Up Cowgirl!

Mike and Gina came to the beautiful Cave B Inn from Alaska and Jonda and I had a fabulous time capturing their wedding, despite Jonda getting a black eye and my losing a shoe and having to borrow the brides flip flops...the food was fabulous, the couple was gorgeous, and the venue stunning.

I love this girl! I love when girls can pull off so many different looks and this girl has them all! I am seriously in love with her serious face, as you can tell from this post, she just looks so fierce! If I had to describe Kaitlyn in one word it would be unconventional, and I love that about her, she is not afraid to just be her, no strings attached, her mom says she has been an individualist her whole life. Kaitlyn is an artist of the painting medium, she has had the converse she is wearing in these pics since 7th grade and she giggles like nobodies business. We would get set up for a shot and she would just starting making the silliest faces, I almost posted her owl face because it is so classic...her teased and ratty hair is excellent, keep rockin' it Kaitlyn!

Mary's Senior Session

Here is a short story...I have what my sister and I call "The Terri Syndrome." I get it from my mother because she can't remember anything, my sister and I will ask her questions about things when we were little and she can't ever remember, my sister on the other hand, she remembers EVERYTHING...there is a running joke in our family about she remembers things that never happened...so between my mother and I, I think my sister got the memory gene!

Here is why this story is so funny, at Mary's shoot after two locations her mom looks at me and asks me my maiden name. I tell her and she says "I knew it...I was your 1st grade teacher." Of course having "The Terri Syndrome" I had no recollection... She said she knew it had to be me because I looked the exact same...go figure...I get that alot...I immediately call my sister and asked her "Hey do you remember who was our first grade teacher?" to which she replies..."oh yeah, Mrs. Asker", with out hesitation! I was astonished...seriously, how did she remember that!

Ok enough about me! This post is about Mary and how cute she is! I knew this girl would be fun when I got her first email and her response to my questionnaire. After we got set up at the first spot about 5 pictures in I had to stop and couldn't get over the fact that she looks soo much like Ann Hathaway....seriously do a comparison. Anyhooha, Mary you are gorgeous and I really enjoyed your shoot.

Beth's Senior Session

The seniors just keep coming and I love it! I have known Beth and her fabulous family forever...I graduated with one of her sisters, she is the youngest of 8 siblings. Finally her mom and dad will be empty nesters! I had so much fun with this shoot because her mom and sister accompanied us, and her sister's job was to make her smile for the camera, she ended up making me laugh more then Beth. Thanks Ladies! Stephanie's mom, Dolly was my middle school AAU basketball coach...and now her baby girl is soon to be leaving the nest, wow, time seriously flies, but don't worry I am still that crazy girl I always was, nothing has changed!

I have had so many senior sessions lately and I love everyone of them, photographing seniors is my favorite, I get to devote my attention to one person for 2 hours and it's fantastic. Stephanie photographs incredibly well with her piercing blue eyes and her all business expression, lovin' it! Stunning location, stunning light, and a stunning girl equals stunning photos. Harlie's senior session starts with a funny story...I had a great chair I was going to use for her pictures...it was Jonda's chair to be exact and it took a nice tumble out of the back of the truck on the highway, I will leave it at that, you can imagine what it looks like now. So I hit up the junk store on my way into town and found this little beauty, I love junking, I could do it all day long! Harlie, her mom, and I ran all over town and found some great spots for her pictures! Even though Harlie tells me I have an evil laugh, she is too cute to get mad at. I mean look at those beautiful blue eyes...I tried to make her be serious for a few photos but she is just too happy to make a straight face! Watch out college, this girl so much fun and full of sass!

Jade and Marla Married

This is the second time Jade and Marla have walked down the aisle together....they were in a wedding of their good friends New Years Eve a few years ago and it was so sweet to have those two in their wedding! You might remember this smokin' hot couple from their fun engagement shoot.

Jade and Marla are two of the most genuine people. Jade is such a sweet guy and knows his way into a girls heart, he should since he is the only guy in his family of three sisters and Marla is one of three girls in her family, now's he is really surrounded! Marla's sisters in their speech's told everyone Jade is known for buying Marla flowers and sometimes he even buys them flowers...Nice catch Marla...Jade I say your pretty stinkin' lucky too!

We started at the brides mom's house and ended up at the park in Wenatchee and at the beautiful riverside community center in Cashmere. Despite some crazy wind we got some beautiful shots and had a great time! Thanks you guys for letting us capture your beautiful day, can't wait for you to see them all!

Jonda and I have been so lucky this wedding season and had some awesome cars to photograph, this wedding was no different, we got a circa 1960's bright blue mercury cougar, so much fun!

We may have both walked away with hundreds of mosquito bites, but it was worth it! Funfetti cake...that pretty much sums it all up for these two, not only is that their favorite cake (which they served at the wedding and I loved every second of) but it completely describes their personalities. I had the pleasure of traveling over to Puyallup to shoot with Sarah Fuccillo for this fabulous wedding. Justin and Rochelle are in love, you can see it, you can feel it, its all in the way she rests her head on his shoulder or the way she looks at him and he at her. Sarah and I had so much fun capturing these two on their wedding day because everything reflected their fun loving free spirits. Bright and cheery colors, gerber daisies, and funfetti cake, loved it...I think the last picture sums it all up.

Having this much fun while working should be illegal! We are so lucky!! You might remember the BIG Photography Giveaway Jonda and I were part of with Becky Higgins. Here are the lucky winners- Brad, Diana, Briar, Lauren, and Beren were so much fun! Jonda and I drove up to Manson for their family photo shoot and amidst the crazy wind (she claims its never that windy) we managed some great shots! Diana is so sweet and so funny, she admitted she was a blog stalker and even watches the bachelorette, so we had lots to talk about. If you have never been to Manson is a cute little town outside of Chelan, totally worth the beautiful drive! Aaron and Amy Married

Aaron and Amy were married at the beautiful Galena Ridge Gold Course in Kellogg, Idaho. Their day was surrounded by creativity, family and friends, and an outpouring of love.

One thing that I just can't stop obsessing over is the amount of amazing family heirlooms that were part of this beautiful wedding. The garter you see below was Amy's great Aunt's and has been passed through the families, was even worn by her mother. The ring bearer pillow is made of wedding dresses of family members, also been passed through many family weddings. The grooms father surprised him with this pocket watch that belonged to his great grandfather. The history doesn't stop here. The tablecloth at the front of the alter is made up of family linens and wedding dresses, the church windows in the sanctuary were taken from the old Lind Congregational Church, where Amy grew up, her dad has been saving them for 10 years, how sweet!

The brides family and friends quilted her beautiful centerpiece table toppers and she even had her brother hot glueing wheat to coffee cans! Amy and Aaron you are both such amazing people, thank you for letting me document your day, it was stunning!

This sanctuary was created from a vision Amy had, her father, and the builder that built their beautiful home, made it come to life. Such a sweet thing for an outdoor ceremony.

How sweet is this....the trolly bussed people to and from town to get to the wedding!

Aaron was so sweet and fed her cake so nicely....and Amy was awesome, she definitely fed him the cake! It was perfect!They didn't forget any details for this day, when having an outdoor wedding porta potties aren't really something many people think about, well they created a "bathroom" the porta potties were located behind this tin wall, they created 2 "sinks" with anti-bac, lotions, and even bug spray!

Kevin and Meara Wedding Invitations

Simple and clean lines are one of the things I loved about these wedding invitations. We started with a monogram and things just clicked after that. From the invites, rsvp's, rehearsal dinner invites, programs, menu's, welcome packets, and even a seating chart (24x36 poster size). They were printed on a thick white cardstock that just felt rich, I am a touch and feel person, so paper is very important to me. The paper has to match the invitations, it's all about presentation! .

I totally forgot to post these awesome wedding thank yous! By now you all know I love matchy matchy stuff, especially when it comes to weddings. It was so fun to help Lyndenn with her wedding invitations because I was able to make everything match! How much fun! I love when people give me free reign. These were front and back and had a spot in the back for them to write a personal thank you. One of my favorite papers to use in a linen cardstock, it had a nice texture and feel to it.

Baby Lindy Jean

Welcome to the World, Baby Lindy Jean Cornelia Stagg. My sister makes big babies and miss Lindy Jean was no exception. She was born on Saturday June 12th 9 lbs 11 oz. I got to go take her pictures when she was 6 days old, and she was such a good baby, she slept the entire time, didn't make a peep, and put up with my every whim. Gotta love this kid. Addy Lou Hoo is quite excited to be a big sister as you can see from the pictures from below.
